Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation

Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation

For over 2,500 years, acupuncture and Chinese herbs have been used to successfully prevent disease, combat aging, and effectively treat a variety of skin conditions. Acupuncture facial rejuvenation is a holistic approach focused on rebalancing underlying cause(s) for skin conditions as well as addressing cosmetic concerns such as: fine lines, firmness, wrinkles, sun damage, dryness, and breakouts.

Facial rejuvenation works through the gentle insertion of very fine acupuncture needles to the face and body. This approach brings rich blood flow, increased oxygen, lymph drainage, and elasticity to the skin and underlying facial and neck muscles.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine offer a safe, natural, and very effective way to prevent and treat the following:

Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation Frequently Asked Questions:

Does acupuncture facial rejuvenation work?
Yes! This treatment approach is a very effective, natural and gentle way to work with your body’s natural ability to repair itself from the inside out. I use a variety of modalities including tuning forks, nutritional recommendations, and acupuncture to address each person’s individual skin care needs.

Unlike other options like Botox, which focuses on freezing local muscles, acupuncture treats fine-lines and wrinkles by bringing increased blood and oxygen to the muscles and underlying tissues to improve the internal health and external appearance of the skin.

How does facial rejuvenation work?
Facial rejuvenation works through the gentle insertion of very fine acupuncture needles to the face and body. This approach brings rich blood flow, increased oxygen, lymph drainage, collagen and elasticity to the skin and underlying facial and neck muscles. Each time the skin experiences a tiny amount of trauma through the needles, the skin responds with increasing its production of collagen resulting in smoother, firmer skin.

When I will I see results?
Facial rejuvenation is not an instant fix. Since we’re working with your bodies unique needs, it will take about 6 weekly sessions for you to see sustained improvements in your skin. It is recommended that you receive continuous 12 treatments to have the best results.

Is acupuncture facial rejuvenation painful?
No. I make every effort to be incredibly gently with my needle insertion, however the majority of the needles will be focused on the face. I do also use tuning forks to help supplement the effectiveness of the treatment reducing the number of needles required. Most people experience a deep sense of relaxation during and following the treatment.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t receive facial rejuvenation?
People with the following conditions may not be a good candidate this kind of treatment:

Are there any side effects?
Bruising can be a side effect of the treatment. It is not common but since the tissue of the face is thinner it is a possibility.

About Teresa

I am a graduate of Bastyr University and have been in private practice since November 2009. My practice has particular a focus on women’s health, pain and stress reduction. Over the years I have been wanting to expand into dermatology as a natural extension of my own passion for skin care.

Since I was a teenager, I have been a little obsessed with my skin and tried most every product on the market. I love the self-care aspect as well as trying out different things to help any particular issue I had at the time. I strongly believe the health of our skin has a deep impact on our confidence levels.

Several years ago, I began receiving acupuncture facial rejuvenation and fell in love with the holistic and natural approach to effectively treat a variety of skin care conditions. Recently, I received a certification in acupuncture facial rejuvenation from the world renowned, Virginia Doran, LAc. I’m looking forward to partnering with you to help you feel and look your best.
